Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) RQF Level 3
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) RQF qualification (500/9758/1) is the new course which has replaced the old A1\2 and D32\33 assessor qualification. The course is sometimes referred to as TAQA and it is aimed at helping students to understand assessment strategies and quality assurance procedures for RQF qualifications.
The VTCT accredited Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) RQF qualification is ideal for students who would like to be fully qualified assessors for learners in either the classroom and/or the work environment. This course will enable you to assess vocational competencies in a wide range of qualifications such as:
- Functional Skills
- Technical Certificates
Successful achievement of this qualification will provide sufficient evidence that you have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to enable you to assess within vocational education and training using a range of assessment methods.
What can I do on completion of the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) RQF Level 3 course?
Once you have your qualification you will be able to work in a number of roles as:
- Assessing learners in a college
- Assessing learners in a workplace
“Full-time assessors and verifiers can earn from £18,000 to £24,000 a year. With experience this can rise to between £25,000 and £30,000." - Source: National Careers Service
Am I required to do a placement?
As part of your course you will be required to secure a placement in a suitable environment (more advice on this can be provided by contacting the college if you are in doubt).
- Unit 1 will be assessed through a series of assignments.
- Unit 2 will be assessed through you practically assessing learners in a work environment and producing work products and audio visual evidence
- Unit 3 will be assessed through you practically assessing learners in a classroom or training environment and producing work products and audio visual evidence
For units 2 & 3 you will need to secure a position or placement which will allow access to the assessment of nationally regulated qualifications.(e.g. NVQ units, RQF Qualifications, etc.)
